Drascombe Scaffie -  Hull No 21

‘Sandpiper’ is hull No 21. It is hard to be exact with her age as boats built then did not carry HIN numbers as we know today.

However Scaffies started being built in 1998 by Honnor Marine, Rochdale and she is likely to be an early 2000/2002 boat

She is a single standing lug sail rig which in true Drascombe style is loose footed. There is no centreplate giving a spacious boat of its size which is 14’ 9”

With a draft of only 1’3” she is great for exploring creeks and rivers. The 3.3 hp engine is more than enough to push her along and Scaffies are easy to row.

• Deck - Duck egg blue, in very good condition with white anti slip footwell floor
• Hull - Mustard (yellow) over red antifoul, again in good condition although it would benefit from a polish
• Sails - standard tan lug sail - appears to be in very good condition, no fading or damage
• Spars - sound and varnished - good condition
• Woodwork/gunwales - in reasonable condition but could do with attention - the gunwales are the original PVC
• Mast - in need of some repair to the foot (being attended to by Drascombe Boats)
• Engine- Mercury 3.3hp
• Trailer - Bramber spine - with wheel clamp
• Overall cover
• Cockpit cover
• Oars and rowlocks
• Removable rowing thwart
• Portable bilge pump
• Anchor, chain and rode
