Drascombe Longboat and Drascombe Gig
The one thing which we, as Drascombe are very proud off, is the ability to adapt both the Drascombe Longboat and the Drascombe Gig to allow those less abled to have the chance of being out on the water.
We were approcached many years ago, and asked to work with a centre to make adaptions to enable a group of disabled adults and children to go sailing.
Working with this centre, and then further thoughts and ideas, we now have a package of adaptions suitable for both the Drascombe Longboat and the Drascombe Gig.
The Drascombe range of boats has proved very popular with centres and RYA Sailabilty alike, as they provide the stabilty to allow even the most inexperienced person to enjoy being on the water.
Sharon, the owner of Drascombe has taken the opportunity to join in at Queen Mary Sailabilty to watch and even experience the group sailing on a Thursday morning, and gets a lot of pleasure knowing that her boats are being used by many centres and groups, to allow children and adults alike to get on the water, this is not just in the UK; most recently two Longboats and a Gig have been shipped to New Hampshire, USA, where they are being used on the large lakes by thousands of children every year. Both centres keep in contact with Sharon with new photos.
Two of our Drascomes Sailability boats have been named by HRH Princess Anne, some acheivement for a small boat building company, a hat trick will complete another goal.
For more details of what we at Drascome can build and adapt for you, please call Sharon will be only too happy to discuss and hopefully meet your requirements.
Until July 29th 2020, we are offering 10% of the sailaway specification to any organisation placing an order for a new Longboat, as part of not only the Drascombe Longboat celebrating its 50th Birthday, but also because Sharon will be celebrating her 50th birthday.
There is no better time to buy a Drascombe Longboat than now.
